I'm So Glad When Daddy Gets Home

You'll understand why...

This last video is something that has turned into an FHE tradition. The closing song is always "I'm All Made of Hinges" and each time it has gotten a little more crazy. Steve has made up some interesting renditions. Hopefully they don't carry over into primary singing time...

Now you know why they can't wait for Daddy to get home...and me too.

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

Abram has been a good baby. He just hasn't been a consistant baby. I used to not know if I was going to sleep at night or if he was going to be up all night. And I would have to nurse him to sleep and then lay him down, if he woke up I would have to nurse him again to get him to sleep. Well, no more.
I was getting a bit desperate because I have 3 other little people depending on me and I was getting a bit tired. So I pulled out a dusty book on my shelf called "Happiest Baby on the Block". I received it when Hudson was born and read parts, but did not really need it because Hudson already was the happiest baby without any help from me.
So I read this book several days ago and it has changed my life (I know it has only been a few days, but such a dramatic difference). The book should be called "Happiest Mom on the Block". I knew about the swaddling and the swinging and whatever, but oh how I had forgotten. I wish I had read this book with Sadie and Everett. The trick is to do all five of the "S's". But you have to read the book to get it right and understand all the elements. It is a beautiful thing. The baby went from nursing constantly and sleeping 2 to 3 hour stretches to consistantly sleeping 4 to 5 hour stretches at night and 3 hour naps during the day without a "fussy time". It is a beautiful thing (did I already say that?). So this is a shout out to Kathleen Lewis for giving me this book, even if it is 5 years later. THANK YOU!
Here he is in action...

Love Those Grandmas and Grandpas

H: "Mom, do you miss your mom and dad?"

Me: "um, yeah I do."

H: "Me too. I miss your mom and dad."

We love when Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit. And we miss them when their gone :(
Grandpa gave Hudson hours of instruction on bike riding basics. Thank you Grandpa.
Love you guys!

I'll Be Home For Christmas

Steve's Boss: "Steve, you need to take more vacation time or your marriage is going to suffer."
Steve: "Well the work still needs to get done."
Boss: "Go to Colorado for Christmas and work a week from there."
Steve: laughs, "that would be nice."

When Steve told me I said, "Yea we are going home for Christmas!" Steve says, "Well, hold on we need to figure out the details." Steve told me not to tell the parents until we work out the details, but I am sorry hon we are going home for Christmas! I am so excited! We'll work on the details later. Now just keep your eyes out for really cheap flights so we don't have to drive through the Wyoming winter.

Not The Baby

For the past 2 1/2 years this has been the baby. Since Abram was born he has seemed so huge to me and heavy! And I am realizing he might be a little big for a sink bath!

My Good Friends

I've abandoned these friends for two and a half years. I totally forgot about them until the last few nights where I have been up with Abram all night. For some odd reason this is what I watch. I don't know if I am too tired to change the channel, or find something on demand. I just sit and watch this. And they are funny. I am not sure if they really are or if I am so tired it just seems that way. Soon Abram will sleep and I will abandon them again until the next baby comes, that is if there is a next baby!
Speaking of real friends. I could not do this without them. Bringing meals, babysitting children. People are so kind. Thank you people.
Thankful for a good husband too. Always helping, cleaning, and taking good care of me. Thank you husband.
