H: Mom, my arm is feeling much better. We can take this off now (referring to the cast).

Me: Um, actually Hudson you have to have it on for a month or longer.

H: Hmmm. Is that like 70 minutes?

Me: No, a lot longer.

This is going to be a long haul. Any ideas on what to do with a four-year-old with a cast? The Dr's ruled out "running, jumping, climbing, sand, and water." When I told Hudson that he started running as fast as he could around the room.
So I guess a lot of drawing, coloring, tv, and saran wrapping the cast. I was really hoping for an aquaplast cast (waterproof, which he had with his last broken arm) but they wouldn't give us one b/c he has above elbow (so was his last one). Oh, well. There are MUCH worse things in life. We will survive.

For some reason that picture reminds me of the picture of Matt, when Matt broke his leg. Just hanging out with a nonchalant look on his face.

I can totally hear his voice asking if that is only 70min.

Maybe in a couple of weeks you can just break the cast like Dad broke yours!

5 Things Hudson can do with cast

5. Throw ball, cast can be bat
4. hang pictures, cast can be hammer
3. bang pots, cast can be drum stick
2. make sugar cookies, cast can be rolling pin
1. Stick it out in hot Phoenix sun and cast can curl your hair!

It is snowing here in Colorado by the way!
