On Grandma's blessing blanket she made for him.

My Sade is 4!

It truly feels like yesterday that my Sade came into this world. I remember meeting her and seeing her smile from the first day she was born. She had a little patch of blond/red hair on the top of her head that has now grown into beautiful highlights into her brown hair. Look at those blue green eyes! And she kept them for a whole year! Then they turned to beautiful golden brown to match her golden brown hair.

Sade with cousin Soph in thier matching dresses from H&M

Sadie loves her cousin Annie. She always says, "I miss Annie".
Sadie loves her Daddy. If he ever leaves for work before she wakes up she crosses her arms and says, "Daddy didn't give me a hug and a kiss. I'm sad."She is my helper. She always wants to get Abram's paci, wash it, get a diaper, or just hold him and talk to him.She loves to have her picture taken. She will pose and say, "mom, take my picture."

She has always had such a fun and dynamic personality. She loves life and the color pink. She is a happy and helpful girl.
She's a girly girl. She insists on wearing a dress, or the color pink, or sparkles. She loves princesses. Happy Birthday Sade! We love you!

Meet the Roloffs

The minute I told my sister Nichole that we would be moving to Oregon she said, "you have to go meet the Roloffs!" I said, "who?". She explained they were the ones on the show Little People, Big World on TLC. I then knew who she was talking about, but didn't know they lived in Oregon (I think I had seen the show maybe twice). Well they do live in Oregon and Roloff farms is about a 15 minute drive from our house. So some friends and I went one afternoon. I did not actually think we would meet a Roloff...

So Nichole these pics are for you!

The kids had so much fun at the farm. They had a petting zoo, small corn maze, pumpkin patch (of course), and other little things to do.

See, Oregon does have blue skies in the fall!Haroldson kids, Halena, and Bridger with my kids.

I'm So Glad When Daddy Gets Home

You'll understand why...

This last video is something that has turned into an FHE tradition. The closing song is always "I'm All Made of Hinges" and each time it has gotten a little more crazy. Steve has made up some interesting renditions. Hopefully they don't carry over into primary singing time...

Now you know why they can't wait for Daddy to get home...and me too.

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

Abram has been a good baby. He just hasn't been a consistant baby. I used to not know if I was going to sleep at night or if he was going to be up all night. And I would have to nurse him to sleep and then lay him down, if he woke up I would have to nurse him again to get him to sleep. Well, no more.
I was getting a bit desperate because I have 3 other little people depending on me and I was getting a bit tired. So I pulled out a dusty book on my shelf called "Happiest Baby on the Block". I received it when Hudson was born and read parts, but did not really need it because Hudson already was the happiest baby without any help from me.
So I read this book several days ago and it has changed my life (I know it has only been a few days, but such a dramatic difference). The book should be called "Happiest Mom on the Block". I knew about the swaddling and the swinging and whatever, but oh how I had forgotten. I wish I had read this book with Sadie and Everett. The trick is to do all five of the "S's". But you have to read the book to get it right and understand all the elements. It is a beautiful thing. The baby went from nursing constantly and sleeping 2 to 3 hour stretches to consistantly sleeping 4 to 5 hour stretches at night and 3 hour naps during the day without a "fussy time". It is a beautiful thing (did I already say that?). So this is a shout out to Kathleen Lewis for giving me this book, even if it is 5 years later. THANK YOU!
Here he is in action...

I'll Be Home For Christmas

Steve's Boss: "Steve, you need to take more vacation time or your marriage is going to suffer."
Steve: "Well the work still needs to get done."
Boss: "Go to Colorado for Christmas and work a week from there."
Steve: laughs, "that would be nice."

When Steve told me I said, "Yea we are going home for Christmas!" Steve says, "Well, hold on we need to figure out the details." Steve told me not to tell the parents until we work out the details, but I am sorry hon we are going home for Christmas! I am so excited! We'll work on the details later. Now just keep your eyes out for really cheap flights so we don't have to drive through the Wyoming winter.
